Sulawesi bear cuscus (Ailorops Ursinus) is a member of the genus Ailurops. Bear Cuscus is a marsupial animal and from the Phalangeridae family.Bear Cuscus is an arboreal marsupial that lives in the canopy of the tropical rainforest. [Need a reference] Almost unknown to its ecological status and circumstances. Although scientists classify this population into one species, namely, A. ursinus, or melanotis, but basically the Bear Cuscus is a species. This genus is different, although the authorities include in the subfamily, Ailuropinae. The Bear Cuscus is found only on several islands of Indonesia, which are part of Asia, most of which are not found in Asia. . A hypothesis states that the isolation that caused Bear Cuscus was found on Sulawesi Island occurring at the time of the Miocene causing differences from the Phalangeridae family.

The cuscus is known to range in size from only 15 cm to over 60 cm, though the average-sized cuscus tends to be about 45 cm (18 inches). Cuscus also has long, sharp claws that help the cuscus as it moves around the trees. The cuscus has thick fur and a variety of colors like brown, black and white. In addition, cuscus has a long and strong tail (prehensile) which serves as a means to hold on as it moves from one branch to another. The cuscus tail is also a defense weapon by hooking its tail firmly on the trunk or branch of a tree.

Cuscus spent his life almost exclusively in the trees. Cuscus was in the trees during the day, falling asleep in the dense foliage and waking up at night to begin moving through the trees for food. Cuscus is an omnivorous animal but the main food of cuscus is insects, leaves and fruits occasionally cuscus feed on birds and small reptiles

Cuscus is estimated to breed throughout the year. The female cuscus bore between 2 and 4 cuscus children after a period of gestation lasting only a few weeks. Like all other marsupialia, female cuscus has a pouch in its stomach where a newborn kuscus creeps in and holds until they are bigger and can start eating themselves. Usually only one of the cuscus babies will survive and get out of the bag after 6 or 7 months.
